Gang Member On Why He Fled From Cop: ‘I Don’t Like White People Touching Me, White People Do Weird Stuff’

A 19-year-old black male from Florida who was recently caught with drugs has highlighted the racial divide in the United States.

According to reports, he told the officer who stopped him that he didn’t like white people touching him because “white people do weird stuff.”

Race is a major issue in the United States and there is a massive rift that exists between the white and black communities. In the last year, several African-American men were killed in incidents related to the police and the use of excessive force, prompting a sense of distrust for police by the majority of African-Americans.

A 19-year-old alleged Florida gang member who was reportedly caught with marijuana and tried to flee the scene told the officer who stopped him that he ran because “I don’t like white people touching me, white people do weird stuff.”

Clearwater Police Officer Joseph May was at a gas station when he was approached by Taurus Jabriel Brown, who May says he recognized as a gang member from the community he works in.

Brown told May he would one day like to become a police officer and while the two were shaking hands, the officer says he noticed a marijuana “blunt” behind Brown’s ear, reports The Root.

When May asked him to put his hands behind his back, Brown “tensed, pulled away, and attempted to run out of the front door.” May reportedly didn’t let him get far before taking him down.

“Damn, man, all this for weed,” Brown said. “Wow, bro, you must really want to make an arrest.”

Brown asked May not to take him to jail and said that he’ll go to court and plead guilty.

He asked the officer, “Can you tell the judge I plead guilty?”

May asked why he decided to run away and Brown responded, “I don’t like white people touching me, white people do weird stuff.”

The officer asked him to elaborate and he said, “Nah, I’m playing. I let you catch me. White people are weird as fuck, doe.”

Brown was charged with marijuana possession and obstruction. He is in county jail being held on $300 bail, reports The Smoking Gun.
