Cruz Left Fuming After Huckabee Aide Physically Blocks Him From Kim Davis Money Shot
Following the recent Kim Davis gathering in Roanoke County, Kentucky, Senator Ted Cruz and Governor Mike Huckabee made appearances in support of Davis and her religious bigotry.
Huckabee and Cruz, both Republican presidential candidates, are seeking the right-wing Christian vote in the upcoming election. Huckabee appeared on stage with Davis, milking all of the political potential from the moment. Cruz was denied access to the stage by one of Huckabee’s aides, leaving him trapped on the sidelines for the big moment.
Occupy Democrats reports:
Evangelical extremists Sen. Ted Cruz and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, both Republican presidential candidates, flew to Roanoke County in Kentucky for the release of bigoted county clerk Kim Davis, who was imprisoned for refusing to obey a judge and issue marriage licenses to gay couples. The two, competing for the far-right Christian vote, both wanted to be in the spotlight as they praised her insubordination and trumpeted hyperbolic bravado about “religious liberty,” but Cruz was reportedly denied access to stage at a crucial moment by one of Huckabee’s aides.
The New York Times reported that “when Senator Cruz exited the jail a throng of journalists beckoned him toward their microphones, but an aide to Mr. Huckabee blocked the path of Mr. Cruz, who appeared incredulous.”
He then looked very sad as he took his place among the crowd.
Huckabee may have his moment in the sun, but it still won’t give either of their dying campaigns any more life. America is not about to elect a religious zealot as President over their self-righteous anger about gay marriage. Most Americans are interested in the issues that really matter- the income inequality that is crippling our middle class and the dark money that is corrupting our politics. These social issues are nothing more than a distracting sideshow which has resulted in nothing but conservative defeats.
