Mitch McConnell: Businesses Suffer Because People Are ‘Doing Too Good With Food Stamps’

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has once again demonstrated how out of touch he is with modern American society.

In a recent interview that was published on Monday, McConnell suggested that Americans receiving food stamps were hurting businesses. He elaborated, noting that he had received several complaints from big businesses saying they were finding it challenging to hire good employees.

Raw Story reports:

The Kentucky Republican reportedly “scoffed” at the idea the economy was improving.

McConnell said that business leaders complained to him that they had “a hard time finding people to do the work because they’re doing too good with food stamps, Social Security and all the rest.”

And he accused President Barack Obama of wanting to “Europeanize America” by saddling the country with “massive debt, high taxes on the most successful people, over-regulation.”

Even though McConnell disagreed with Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) proposal to shut down the government over Planned Parenthood funding, he suggested that Republicans would do everything possible to derail the president’s second-term agenda.

“The concrete part of [Obama’s] agenda was when he controlled the Congress with big majorities the first two years,” McConnell explained. “The rest of it is very much open to being changed by a new president with a different point of view. Just like that.”

Note to delusional people, the problem with finding good quality employees is due to the GOP war on intelligence and education, not from providing some extra food for families that can’t afford to feed their children enough. Ignorance is never a virtue and being anti higher education is also anti future for America. How can we succeed if we produce a generation of nitwits.

Most likely, taking a minimum wage job will reduce their public assistance so they’re basically working for like $5/hr. If working paid enough to get off welfare, most would. But the TeaPublicans know they can get away with “truthiness” and they’re experts at it.

How about, “People are suffering because the welfare provided to coal companies allow them to destroy and pollute the areas people live in.”?
