Fiorina: ‘Shame on Us’ If Congress Funds Planned Parenthood
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina has taken a stand against Planned Parenthood and made it known that it would be shameful if Congress funded the program.
In a strange twist, she compared the severity of Planned Parenthood to that of the Iran deal.
“I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama to watch these tapes,” she said of 10 undercover videos which were leaked by an anti-abortion group.
“Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain. This is about the character of our nation, and if we will not stand up and force President Obama to veto this bill, shame on this,” she said
“If we allow Obama to veto this bill, shame on us,” she said.
The Hill reports:
Fiorina, the only woman on the stage, urged viewers to watch the footage that has been released. Several prominent Democrats, including President Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), have said they have not watched the videos.
Planned Parenthood has come under attack this summer for a series of videos that has purposed to show officials discussing the sale and use of fetal tissue obtained from late-term and partial-birth abortions.
Several Republicans, including Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Rand Paul (Ky.), both also presidential candidates, have said GOP leadership should risk shutting down the government in an attempt to defund Planned Parenthood.
