WATCH: Host Andy Samberg Slams ‘Racist’ Donald Trump and ‘Intolerant’ Kim Davis in Emmys’ Opener
The 67th Prime Time Emmy Awards, hosted by Andy Samberg, took place on Sunday night. The comedic host took jabs at Donald Trump and Kim Davis in his opening monologue.
“Racism is over! Don’t fact-check that” before turning to Trump. “Donald Trump is running for president to the delight of uncles everywhere, but I’ve gotta say. Sure, Donald Trump seems racist…what else?”
Next he poked fun at Bernie Sanders, who he said, “always looks like his flight is delayed. Guy’s a mess.”
Lastly, he took a shot at Davis and the recent religious drama she was involved in after she refused to sign same-sex marriage licenses. He suggested that he wasn’t watching Paula Deen on Dancing With the Stars.
“If I wanted to see an intolerant lady dance, I would’ve gone to one of Kim Davis’ four weddings,” he said.
