Rubio: Trump Is ‘Touchy and Insecure’
Sen. Marco Rubio decided to join in on the Donald Trump criticism. On Thursday afternoon, he called Trump a “touch and insecure” man.
“He’s not that well-informed on the issues,” he told host Matt Jones on Kentucky Sports Radio Thursday afternoon. “He never really talks about issues and can’t have more than a 10-second sound bite on any key issue.”
“He’s a very touchy and insecure guy so that’s how he reacts,” he added. “People can see through it.”
Rubio felt obligated to respond to Trump’s claim that he was too young and inexperienced to be an effective politician.
“He takes shots at everybody that gets anywhere close to him in terms of polls,” Rubio said. “Any time he hits a rough spot that’s what he does.
“He had a really bad debate performance last week,” he added. “He’s kind of been a little bit exposed over the last seven days.”
The Hill reports:
Rubio also hit Trump for not correcting a supporter at a recent rally who claimed that President Obama is a Muslim who was born abroad.
“It’s just a dumb thing to talk about,” he said of conspiracy theories that Obama was born overseas. “It’s never been an issue for me. All this other stuff is just stuff people say to get on the news.”
Trump has long questioned the president’s background, despite Obama releasing his Hawaii birth certificate in 2011.
The business mogul has recently been brushing off questions about the controversy.
