Trump: George W. Bush Was A ‘Disaster’
Donald Trump is willing to criticize anyone, Republican or Democrat. His latest target is former President George W. Bush.
Speaking to Fox New’s Bret Baier, Trump slammed the former president.
“I think he was a disaster,” Trump says, adding that he views the Iraq War as “one of the worst decisions ever made. [He] has totally destabilized the Middle East. If you had Saddam Hussein, you wouldn’t have the problems you have right now.”
He blamed Bush’s terrible administration for breaking the Republican Party and giving the United States Barack Obama.
Opposing Views reports:
Trump blamed George W. Bush for the Iraq War and the financial meltdown of 2008, arguing that “because it was such a disaster, the last three months, that Abraham Lincoln couldn’t have been elected.”
The two presidential candidates’ exchange got heated, The Hill reports.
“One thing about my brother, he kept us safe,” Bush said, visibly enraged. “I don’t know if you remember, Donald.”
“Do you feel safe?” Trump shot back.
During his interview with Fox on Tuesday, Trump also added that he would be the “most militarist” president out of the Republican field but maintains his position of allowing Russia to bomb and influence Syria.
“If somebody wants to go hit ISIS, that’s OK with me,” says Trump.
The current Republican presidential front-runner also discussed eminent domain, which is when government or a business can take away your property in exchange for money. Trump told Fox News that the practice is “wonderful… most of the time it’s more money.”
Baier asked if Trump was planning to exit the race for the Republican nomination anytime soon, a question Trump took issue with.
“That’s dishonest reporting,” Trump responded. “I’m not going to get out of the races. … I’m having a great time. I want to make America great again.”
