Ivanka Trump: Donald’s ‘Disrupting the Process’ in Positive Way
Ivanka Trump is in damage control mode, trying to salvage some of the disastrous comments her father has made throughout her campaign.
In an attempt to spin the narrative, Ivanka suggested that her father has been successful in “disrupting the process” and bringing about a positive change to inactive politics.
“That’s a complicated question,” Ivanka answered after she was asked about her thoughts on her father’s campaign.
“So ‘happy’ is an interesting word. I’m incredibly proud of him,” Trump continued.
“It’s a very difficult thing to do, and I see now just how difficult it is, and he’s achieved tremendous success.”
She noted that her father “is not a politician. But he’s really changing the dialogue, and he’s really disrupting the process in a very positive way.”
The Hill reports:
Trump said while “as a citizen, I love what he’s doing,” as the daughter of the real estate mogul, “it’s obviously more complicated, because the level of interest and scrutiny is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced.”
Saying she’s “amazed” by her father and calling him an “unbelievable” parent, Trump, who’s five months pregnant with her third child with husband Jared Kushner, told the audience she’s not surprised by his front-runner status in the Republican field.
“For a long time, politicians have been talking, but it’s been a lot of talk and not a lot of action. And I think he’s known for action.”
“He’s also unguarded in his opinions. He says what he’s thinking. So whether you disagree or you agree, I think people appreciate the candor.”
Trump added, “Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, I think everyone can appreciate the fact that he’s created a dialogue around some very real issues facing this country.”
