Cruz Campaign Sees Fundraising Spike After Debate
Ted Cruz saw a significant increase in campaign contributions following Wednesday night’s Republican debate in Colorado.
By midnight on Wednesday, Cruz had amassed a respectable $772,000.
Cruz’s big moment was when he challenged the debate moderator for asking trivial questions that were geared at making the Republican candidates look bad.
“The questions that have been asked so far in this debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media,” Cruz said to raucous applause. “This is not a cage match.”
NBC News reports:
Cruz has typically seen strong fundraising after debates.
In the 100 hours after first GOP debate in August he raised more than $1 million, receiving more than 10,000 contributions, with online contributions that averaged $54.77.
In the 48 hours after the second debate last month he also raised more than $1 million from more than 15,000 donations. The average online contribution was $49.54.
