Fiorina: Clinton Caught ‘Red-Handed’ on Benghazi Lie
As the Benghazi smoke clears, Republicans are still clinging to the issue and trying to use it against Hillary Clinton.
Carly Fiorina, a third-rate candidate for the Republicans suggested on Saturday that Clinton was caught “red-handed” with Benghazi.
“[Clinton] lied about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya,” said Fiorina. “And we have her red-handed.”
“Indeed she did tell her daughter that very night that this was a purposeful, pre-planned terrorist attack,” Fiorina said. “She nevertheless got up the next morning and talked to the American people about a videotape and stood over the bodies of the fallen and talked about a videotape again.”
The Hill reports:
The GOP presidential hopeful said the party’s eventual nominee must force Clinton to “confront her lies” on Benghazi.
Fiorina contrasted herself with Clinton by saying her campaign is about more than just gender.
“I tell you the one thing I will never do: I will never ask for your votes or your support because I am a woman, although I am proud to be one,” she said.
“I will ask for your votes and your support and your prayers because I am the most qualified candidate to beat Hillary Clinton and to become president of the United States.”
The former Hewlett-Packard CEO said she is the only candidate in the field who can both “do the job” as president and “win the job” in an election.
Fiorina is currently sixth in the GOP presidential race with 5.6 percent support, according to a RealClearPolitics average of polls.
Clinton leads the Democratic race with 48.8 percent, according the same RealClearPolitics polling average.
