Trump: Bush Should Drop Out
A new day, a new target for Donald Trump. The latest victim of Trump is Jeb Bush.
Trump is calling on Bush to drop out due to his poor numbers in the polls.
“Look, Jeb is a nice guy. He’s a stiff, OK? He’s a nice guy. … He doesn’t have a chance, all right? He ought to do what Walker did,” Trump said during an in-studio interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” referring to former presidential candidate Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wis.), who ended his campaign in September.
“You think he should drop out?” asked host George Stephanopoulos.
“Absolutely. He has no chance,” Trump responded. “Jeb is not a man who is going to make it. He’s wasting his time. He’s wasting a lot of money.”
The Hill reports:
The broadside came after Bush, once a front-runner who has lagged in the polls for months, tweaked the celebrity real estate tycoon during a Monday rally as part of his campaign reset tour.
“You can’t just tell Congress ‘you’re fired’ and go to a commercial break,” Bush said in Miami, adopting one of the businessman’s catchphrases.
Walker was the second Republican presidential candidate to drop out of the race, following former Texas Gov. Rick Perry. The field remains at 15 candidates after the third debate.
A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Monday found retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Trump leading the GOP field with 29 and 23 percent, respectively.
Bush came in at fifth with 8 percent, behind Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at 11 percent and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at 10 percent.
