Fiorina Quarrels With ‘the View’ Hosts
After a week of drama between Carly Fiorina and the hosts of The View, Fiorina appeared on the show on Friday to discuss their feud.
Whoopi Goldberg started, suggesting that they clear the air.
“I’ve been called all kinds of things, Whoopi, it’s wonderful to be back with you, ladies … I think we need to be able to have civil conversations in this country about our differences as well as about the things that unite us,” she said.
But things turned sour when Fiorina started talking about Planned Parenthood.
“Whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life, the majority of Americans are horrified by the reality that we’re harvesting baby parts through late-term abortions,” Fiorina said.
“I need to stop you. Because that’s not — you know that’s not true,” Goldberg interrupted.
“You asked me a question,” Fiorina said.
“No one is harvesting baby parts,” Goldberg said. “Come on, girl.”
“Planned Parenthood just announced they were no longer going to take compensation for that,” Fiorina said.
“That offends my sensibility to hear you say something like that when you know it’s not true,” Goldberg said.
The tension continued when Raven-Symone said that people complain that Fiorina doesn’t talk about the issues because “you talk about complaining about not talking about the issues.”
“Why is that difficult for getting the issues out there and more easy to complain about it?” Raven-Symone asked.
“Well that’s interesting because your question is just completely false, I talk about the issues all day long with voters,” Fiorina said.
Goldberg then addressed the face comment.
“We saw that you were a little upset with us about a comic comment that was made, and so how will you steel your skin?” she asked.
“Well, hey, if you meant your comment about my face being demented and a Halloween mask as humorous, so be it,” Fiorina said. “I guess you misinterpreted Donald Trump’s comments about my face and thought those weren’t humorous.”
The hosts questioned Fiorina using the “fake feud” with “The View” to raise funds, saying she made lemonade out of lemons.
“You’re telling me you’re lemons?” Fiorina asked. “I thought you said I shouldn’t be offended.”
The show ended awkwardly with Goldberg interrupting Fiorina.
“You are a very wonderful woman and we’re so glad that you came back with us,” Goldberg said.
“So are you, Whoopi. And so are you. I’m a big fan of your movies,” Fiorina said.
“I’m a big fan of my movies as well,” Goldberg said.
