O’Malley Hits Clinton for 9/11 Remarks
During Saturday night’s Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton made a strange comparison when she suggested that Wall Street loved her because of her response to 9/11.
“I represented New York on 9/11 when we were attacked,” she said at the debate. “Where were we attacked? We were attacked in downtown Manhattan where Wall Street is. I did spend a whole lot of time and effort helping them rebuild.”
On Sunday, Martin O’Malley fired back at Clinton for her bazaar remarks.
“[She] sadly invoked 9/11 to try and mask that, but she doesn’t have to mask that.”
“It is what it is,” he added, according to Bloomberg Politics.
The Hill reports:
Former President Bill Clinton, who was also at the barbecue on Sunday, said his wife didn’t deserve to be attacked.
“It is a stretch. Those of us who were there know that,” he said, according to Bloomberg.
The Clinton campaign has said the comments were taken out of context.
