Trump on ISIS: US Needs to ‘Knock Them out Hard’

Donald Trump is calling on the United States to take down ISIS by any means necessary, but hinted that President Barack Obama wasn’t capable of doing the job.

“We have a president who just doesn’t get it. He’s weak and ineffective,” the Republican presidential candidate said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

“This is like no other war we’ve ever had,” Trump said. “This is a war, believe me.

“We’re going to have to knock them out and knock them out hard,” he added.

The Hill reports:

Many Republican presidential candidates have long called for a more muscular approach to ISIS, renewing those calls after the Paris attacks claimed by the terrorist group.

Obama vowed over the weekend to redouble efforts to defeat ISIS, as France carried out a new round of airstrikes on an ISIS stronghold in Syria.

The U.S. has also reportedly carried out its first airstrikes in Syria against trucks used by ISIS to transport oil, a major revenue source to fund its operations.

“I’ve been saying attack the oil for two years. … That’s a significant source of their wealth,” Trump said Monday.

Trump again suggested that “you would have had a lot different story” in Paris if others had guns to counter the armed terrorists.

He also went after Hillary Clinton, saying the Democratic presidential front-runner “still refuses to say what it is that’s happening.”

“I mean, she probably thinks these people come from Sweden or something,” Trump quipped.
