Rapper Tells Sanders Crowd to Make Sure Others ‘Have Felt the Bern’
Killer Mike provided a notable speech before introducing Sen. Bernie Sanders at a campaign rally in Atlanta on Monday. Legally he is known as Michael Render and officially endorses Sanders in June.
“I don’t trust the church or the government. A Democrat, a Republican. A pope or a bishop or those other men,” the rapper, whose real name is Michael Render, said in a speech before Sanders took the stage.
“In my heart of hearts, I truly believe that Sen. Bernie Sanders is the right man to lead this country,” the rapper said Monday night.
“Make sure that wherever you go, you take the … idea, the philosophy and the ideology of Bernie Sanders there and you make sure … they have felt the Bern,” Killer Mike said to loud cheers.
“But after spending 5 hours with someone who has spent the last 50 years radically fighting for your rights and mine,” Killer Mike continued, “I can tell you that I am very proud tonight to announce the next president of the United States, Sen. Bernie Sanders.”
