Trump: Shooting ‘Probably Related’ to ‘Radical Islamic Terrorism’
Donald Trump didn’t waste any time when he suggested that the San Bernardino shooter is tied to radical Islam.
“Now, our president doesn’t want to use the term,” Trump said at the Republican Jewish Coalition Presidential Candidates Forum in Washington. “We had another [shooting], which probably was — there was one yesterday, it probably was related. It always happens … but it probably was related. Radical Islamic terrorism.”
“We have a president that refuses to use the term,” Trump continued. “He refuses to say it. There’s something going on with him that we don’t know about.”
The Hill reports:
Police killed a husband and wife believed to have killed 14 people and wounded 17 others in a mass shooting at a holiday party in Southern California on Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the couple are Muslims and that the man, a U.S.-born citizen, recently traveled to Saudi Arabia, provoking fears that the attack is tied to radical Islamic terrorism.
Those allegations have not been proven.
Obama has said it’s “possible” the shooting was a terrorist attack, but said it could also be “work related.”
