Poll: Half of Voters Say They’d Feel Embarrassed by Trump Presidency
As the nomination process skirts closer and closer, the reality of Donald Trump winning the Republican nomination and vying for president becomes more of a reality each day.
Trump thinks he is loved, but a new poll by Qunnipiac shows that the vast majority of Americans would be “embarrassed” if he became president.
While Trump won the individual matchups, 50 percent of Americans suggested they would feel ashamed if he won.
NBC News reports:
Just 23 percent of voters responded that they would feel proud to have Trump as the country’s leader.
When the same question was asked about Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, 33 percent said they would feel proud, 35 percent said they would feel embarrassed, and 29 percent said that neither sentiment would apply.
The Quinnipiac poll was conducted December 16-20 and has a margin of error for all registered voters of +/- 2.9 percentage points.
