“The ugliness really came out fast and that’s really scary,” she told CNN after she was escorted out of the venue.
The Hill reports:
Hamid added that several people around her held her hand and said “sorry” as she was forced to leave.
“There is a hatred against us that is unbelievable,” Trump said after Hamid was ejected. “It’s their hatred, not our hatred.”
Hamid told CNN before the event that she didn’t plan to disrupt the event, but wanted to give Trump’s supporters some insight as to what Muslims are like.
“I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim, so I figured that I’d give them the opportunity to meet one” she said. “I really don’t plan on saying anything. I don’t want to be disrespectful but if he says something that I feel needs answering I might — we’ll see what strikes me.
“People don’t have a chance to see anything other than the Muslims they see on TV,” she added, talking about the footage of terrorists.
