Fox News Poll: Trump Gains Ground in Iowa
As the primaries edge closer, Donald Trump continues to build on his lead over Ted Cruz in Iowa.
In the latest poll by Fox News, Trump secured 34 percent of the vote to Cruz’s 23 percent. Coming in third, Marco Rubio received 12 percent.
The Hill reports:
Both Cruz and Rubio saw their support fall slightly in the latest survey, by 4 points and 3 points, respectively.
No other GOP candidate has double-digit support, pollsters found.
Fox News quoted Republican pollster Daron Shaw, who conducts the poll with Democratic pollster Chris Anderson, as saying, “We tend to over-interpret every little thing in a presidential race, but here we actually have solid evidence Trump didn’t just win last week in Iowa — he won it by enough to put some distance between himself and Cruz.”
The poll of 378 likely Republican caucus-goers, conducted Jan. 18-21, has a 5 percent margin of error.
The Fox News Poll also shows Trump holding his lead in New Hampshire with 31 percent support. Cruz follows with 14 percent while Rubio has 13 percent.
