“My message is: Check my record,” he said on CNN’s “New Day” when asked what he would tell older voters who, for the most part, did not support him in Iowa.
“You’ll find that there is no United States senator who is stronger on senior issues,” he told host Chris Cuomo early Tuesday.
“Very few, if any, senators have been stronger on the need to take on the pharmaceutical industry and end this disgrace of Americans paying, by far, the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs.”
The Hill reports:
Sanders also praised America’s youth for backing his Oval Office bid with such enthusiasm since its launch last year.
“In the last election, the mid-term election, 80 percent of young people didn’t vote,” he said.
“I’m very proud we’re bringing a whole lot of young people into the political process, that we’re revitalizing democracy. If we’re going to change America, that’s what we’ve got to do.”
