Jane Sanders Dismisses Concerns About Bernie’s Age: ’75 Is the New 55′
Jane Sanders came to the defense of her husband, dismissing claims that he is too old to run for president.
Appearing in an interview on HuffPost Live, she said that her husband acted much younger than a 75-year-old.
“Well, 75 is the new 55,” Jane Sanders said with a laugh.
The Hill reports:
The oldest president ever elected was Ronald Reagan, who was 69 when sworn into office.
She said her husband is very energetic despite his age.
“Well seriously, he puts everybody to shame in terms of his endurance,” she said. “He is going everyday, you know, 15, 16, 20 hours a day, depending on the day. The rest of us take a day off every now and then, Bernie doesn’t.”
“I think it might have to do with him being a runner when he was a kid,” she added. “He’s as healthy as they come.”
“I think he’s been sick three days since I’ve known him in 35 years.”
