Rolling Stones: Trump Never Asked Permission to Use Songs
The Rolling Stones are angry at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for using their songs without permission.
“The band was not asked for permission to use the songs,” Stones spokeswoman Fran Curtis told the Daily Beast.
The Hill reports:
Trump’s campaign rally playlist regularly includes three Rolling Stones hits: “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Sympathy for the Devil” and “Brown Sugar.”Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards told Billboard last year that a Trump presidency would be “the worst nightmare.”
“Can you imagine president Trump? The worst nightmare,” he said. “But we can’t say that. Because it could happen. This is one of the wonders of this country.
“Who would’ve thought Ronald Reagan could be president?” he added.
The billionaire businessman has similarly run afoul of Adele, Elton John and Neil Young, among others.
