Sanders Huddles with Sharpton After NH Win

Bernie Sanders met with Al Shaprton on Thursday to discuss how Sanders can effectively appeal to the African-American vote.

Sharpton himself tweeted about the meeting, showing a photo of himself and Sanders.

The Hill reports:

Sanders, fresh off a huge win over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire on Tuesday, is focusing on the Palmetto State, where Clinton has consistently polled stronger among black voters.
The two leaders met at Sylvia’s, a famed soul food restaurant, in New York City’s Harlem on Wednesday morning.

Sharpton embraced Sanders outside the breakfast spot Wednesday before heading inside. They were joined by former NAACP president Ben Jealous, who endorsed Sanders last week, and posted a photo of the pair.

Sanders is meeting Sharpton in the same Harlem restaurant where the activist met with then- Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) during his 2008 presidential campaign.

Sharpton will also sit down with Clinton on Wednesday to pre-tape an interview for MSNBC, according to the Daily Beast.
