Poll: Trump up Huge in South Carolina
Donald Trump continues to dominate the competition in South Carolina, according to the latest CNN/ORC poll.
Trump took home 38 percent of the vote, while Ted Cruz took home 22 percent, Marco Rubio 14 percent, and Jeb Bush 10 percent.
The Hill reports:
A majority of Republicans surveyed — 53 percent — say Trump gives the GOP its best chance of winning the general election in November.
The results are in line with a Public Policy Polling survey released earlier Tuesday, which found Trump taking 35 percent support, leading Cruz by 17 points.
Republicans in South Carolina view Trump as the strongest candidate on the economy, illegal immigration, and foreign policy in the CNN-ORC poll, while Cruz wins out on social issues.
Only 49 percent said they have definitely decided who they will support in Saturday’s primary.
The survey of 404 likely South Carolina Republican primary voters was conducted between Feb. 10 and Feb. 15 and has a 5 percentage point margin of error.
