Melania Trump Defends Husband, Says He ‘Speaks from the Heart’
Melania Trump came to the defense of her husband on Tuesday and said that her husband is misunderstood and speaks from the heart.
“I don’t try to change him. He’s an adult. He knows the consequences,” she said in a sit-down interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
“I give him my opinions many, many times, I don’t agree with everything that he says but that is normal,” she continued. “I’m my own person. I tell him what I think.”
The Hill reports:
Melania Trump said she’s bothered by some of the language the real estate mogul uses, pointing to a New Hampshire rally from earlier this month when Trump repeated a profanity a supporter used about GOP rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas.).
But, she said, voters are connecting to his rhetoric.
“I’m thinking like, ‘Don’t repeat it,’ in my head, just don’t say it. Because the next day, media — all they will talk is about that,” she said, adding that Donald Trump “goes with the flow.”
“He is who he is. He speaks from the heart. He doesn’t lie. He doesn’t hide anything, and people — they are connecting with that, and they know what he will do for the country,” she said.
“He will not listen to … donors, lobbyists,” she continued. “Nobody can buy him.”
Her interview aired on the eve before Super Tuesday, when Trump is expected to sweep many of the 11 contests.
