Trump on Protesters: ‘They Don’t Love This Country’

Donald Trump accused his protesters on Sunday of not being loyal to the country.

“These people aren’t protesters, they’re disruptors,” he told host John Dickerson on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “They’re professional disruptors. I think they protest and they disrupt and that’s what they do. They don’t love this country.”

The Hill reports:

Trump then accused the media of unfairly covering demonstrations.
“The press in this country is extremely dishonest,” the billionaire said. “It’s a whole different standard when it’s a Republican conservative versus a liberal.

“We have two standards in this country, and it’s unfortunate. I don’t condone violence. I’m constantly saying to the police, ‘Don’t hurt [the protesters], don’t hurt them.’”

Trump additionally mocked Hillary Clinton, saying the Democratic front-runner lacked the same energy, positive or negative, around her campaign events.

“Nobody cares too much about the Hillary rallies because there’s no fervor there,” he said of the former secretary of State.

Trump cancelled a rally in Chicago on Friday night amid fears of violence.

Multiple arrests have since occurred at the real estate tycoon’s weekend rallies as demonstrators spar with his committed fans.
