Obama Likely to Announce SCOTUS Nominee Wednesday: Report

Rumors are suggesting that President Barack Obama will reveal his next Supreme Court pick on Wednesday.

The Hill reports:

Obama will nominate either Judge Sri Srinivasan or Judge Merrick Garland, the report added.

Last week, Obama reportedly chose his top three candidates to fill the Supreme Court’s vacancy: Garland, the chief judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia; Srinivasan, of the same court; and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Paul Watford.

The Republican National Committee has created a task force to block any effort to nominate a justice until after the November elections.

Many Senate Republicans have said they will not hold hearings or votes on Obama’s replacement for the late Justice Antonin Scalia.
