Cruz: Trump Is Being PC on Bathroom Law
Ted Cruz, desperate to weaken Donald Trump’s campaign, went on the attack and slammed Trump for being “politically correct” because of his opposition to the controversial North Carolina bathroom law.
“A few months ago, Donald told us he could be the most politically correct person on Earth. Now I guess he’s showing us what that looks like,” Cruz said during a rally in Frederick, Md. “I am waiting with anticipation for the new baseball caps that say ‘Make PC Great Again.’”
Earlier on Thursday, Trump criticized the bathroom law in North Carolina.
“North Carolina did something. It was very strong. And they’re paying a big price. And there’s a lot of problems,” Trump said. “North Carolina, what they’re going through with all the business that is leaving and strife — and it’s on both sides — you leave it the way it is.”
The Hill reports:
Cruz blasted the real estate mogul for his comments and for “palling around with his buddies in the media.”
“Donald on television this morning said gosh, he thought that men should be able to go into the girls’ bathroom if they want to,” he said.
“Let me ask you: Are there any parents of daughters here?” Cruz asked the crowd. “I’m the father of two little girls. Here is basic common sense: Grown adult men, strangers, should not be in alone in a bathroom with little girls. That’s not conservative or liberal, that’s not Republican or Democrat. That’s basic common sense.”
