Poll: Clinton Crushing Sanders in Maryland
According to the latest poll by Monmouth University, Hillary Clinton is clobbering Bernie Sanders in Maryland.
The Hill reports:
A Monmouth University survey released Thursday found Clinton taking 57 percent to Sanders’s 32 percent. Those findings are in line with what other recent polls have found.
Clinton holds double-digit leads over the Vermont senator in every meaningful demographic in the state, including men, women, white voters, black voters, the young and the old.
“The demographics of Maryland’s Democratic electorate are similar to past primary states where Clinton has done very well,” said Monmouth pollster Patrick Murray. “However, it looks like that isn’t as important a factor since she holds large leads among practically every voting bloc.”
After a big win in New York on Tuesday, Clinton is looking to put Sanders away on April 26, when Maryland and four other states along the East Coast will vote.
There will also be contests in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Delaware on that day.
Clinton leads by 16 points in Pennsylvania and by 7.5 in Connecticut, according to the RealClearPolitics averages.
The Monmouth survey of 300 likely Democratic primary voters in Maryland was conducted between April 18 and April 20 and has a 5.7 percentage point margin of error.
