Malia Obama to Attend Harvard After Gap Year
Today on Obama-Watch, Malia Obama, the eldest Obama daughter, will attend Harvard in 2017.
The Hill reports:
After months of speculation about where the eldest Obama daughter would attend college, Malia decided on Harvard, where her father attended law school, after taking a one-year break.
Both President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have told their daughter in the past not to worry about picking a school with a prestigious name.
“One piece of advice that I’ve given her is not to stress too much about having to get into one particular college,” President Obama told a group of high school students in September, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. “Just because it’s not some name-brand, famous, fancy school doesn’t mean that you’re not going to get a great education there.”
Malia will graduate from Sidwell Friends, a private elite school in Washington, in a few weeks.
