Poll: Trump and Clinton in Close Race in Georgia
The latest poll out of Georgia is a close one between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
The Hill reports:
Trump has 45 percent support to Clinton’s 41 percent.
Among independents, 39 percent support Clinton and 38 percent support Trump. According to the poll, 13 percent of independents say they wouldn’t support either candidate.
Among Democratic respondents in the state, 86 percent would vote for Clinton and just 7 percent would back Trump. Among Republicans, 85 percent would vote for Trump and just 6 percent would support Clinton.
In a general election match-up between Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders and Trump, Sanders got 47 percent support and Trump got 42 percent. Sanders also takes a large portion of the independent voters, leading Trump 48 to 34 percent, in a match-up.
In a national head-to-head match-up between Trump and Clinton, Clinton holds a 5.7-point lead over Trump, 47.3 to 41.6 percent, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.
The poll surveyed 822 registered voters from May 9 to May 12. The margin of error is 4.26 percentage points.
