Clinton: All of Trump’s Books ‘End at Chapter 11’
Hillary Clinton schooled Donald Trump on Tuesday when she joked that all of his books ended at Chapter 11.
“Donald Trump has said he’s qualified to be president because of his business record. … Let’s take a look at what he did for his business,” she said during a rally in Columbus, Ohio.
“He’s written a lot of books about business. They all seem to end at Chapter 11, go figure.”
The Hill reports:
She argued that Trump “intentionally ran up huge amounts of debt on his companies and then defaulted,” citing reports about Trump’s casino bankruptcies.
“This is not normal behavior. There are great businesspeople here in Ohio, in America. Brilliant, hardworking men and women who care about their workers,” she said. “They would never dream of acting the way Donald Trump has. In America, we don’t begrudge people for being successful, but we know they shouldn’t do it by destroying other people’s dreams.”
Clinton made the remark during a major economic speech in which she sought to undercut Trump’s biggest strength, his business background, and frame him as unfit to manage the economy.
“We can’t let him bankrupt America like it’s one of his failed casinos. We can’t let him roll the dice with our children’s futures,” she added.
