Kaine: Trump Thinks ‘It’s Always Got to Be About Him’
Sen. Time Kaine said on Sunday that Donald Trump’s biggest problem is that he always tries to put himself in the spotlight.
“It’s always got to be about him,” Kaine, who’s been rumored as a possible running mate to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, said on NBC’S “Meet the Press.”
“He said, ‘Hey, the British pound is taking a beating now. That could help my hotel out. Your loss, Britain, is my gain.’ This is a guy who will always put himself first.”
The Hill reports:
Trump said Friday during an opening of one of his golf courses in Scotland that the dropping value of the British pound would benefit him financially.“Look, if the pound goes down, they’re going to do more business. When the pound goes down, more people are coming to Turnberry,” Trump said. The pound plunged to its weakest level against the U.S. dollar since 1985 in the hours after Britain voted to leave the European Union.
Kaine went on to say the vote makes it crucial that the next president is someone who is “steady and confident and calm.”
