Trump: Media Spent More Time Analyzing Melania Than FBI Spent on Clinton

Donald Trump criticized the media on Wednesday, saying that they spent more attention on Melania Trump’s speech than the FBI spent investigating Hillary Clinton.

The Hill reports:

Melania Trump’s Monday night speech at the Republican National Convention appeared to have nearly copied a paragraph from first lady Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Donald Trump’s campaign has insisted the speech was not plagiarized. Experts said there is a 1 in 1 trillion chance the speech did not lift lines from Obama’s.

Trump’s campaign has strongly denied accusations of plagiarism, stating that Melania Trump’s speech reflected her own experiences in America.

“In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success,” said an official statement from the campaign.

Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson also defended Melania Trump, stating the concept “that Michelle Obama invented the English language is absurd.”
