Trump Spokeswoman: Khan ‘Proponent of Sharia Law’
Donald Trump’s crazy spokeswoman, Katrina Pierson, suggested that Khzir Khan is a “proponent of Sharia law” in an interview on Tuesday.
“This father apparently has been a strong proponent of Sharia law,” Katrina Pierson said Tuesday on “The Kelly File,” when asked why Trump questioned why Ghazala Khan, the mother of Humayun, didn’t speak during the Democratic convention.
The Hill reports:
Khizr Khan, Humayun’s father, criticized Trump last week in a speech at the Democratic convention during which his wife stood by his side.
In response, Trump criticized Khan and questioned why his wife, who was standing next to him at the convention, did not speak, suggesting it may have something to do with her religion.
Pierson defended Trump’s comments Tuesday, saying reports had surfaced about Khan “writing law briefs for Sharia law.”
“How is that a far-fetched assumption?” Pierson said on CNN earlier Tuesday.
Trump’s response to the Khan family has fueled criticism from both Republicans and Democrats.
President Obama on Tuesday called the GOP nominee “unfit” to be president.
