Former George W. Bush Official Supporting Clinton

Lezlee Westine is personally supporting Hillary Clinton. She was an aide to former President George W. Bush.

The Hill Reports:

An aide to former President George W. Bush plans to support Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president.

“Our nation faces a unique set of challenges that require steady and experienced leadership,” Lezlee Westine, who served as the Bush administration’s White House Director of Public Liaison and deputy assistant to the president, said in a statement, according to The Washington Post.”That is why today I am personally supporting Hillary Clinton. She has the expertise and commitment to American values to grow the economy, create jobs and protect America at home and abroad.”

Westine did not give specific reasons about why she was not supporting Republican nominee Donald Trump.
With the announcement, she joins several other Republicans who have said they don’t plan to vote for their party’s nominee.
Frank Lavin, political director for former President Reagan, said Sunday he plans to vote for Clinton over Trump. In an op-ed published for CNN, Lavin called Trump an “emperor who wears no clothes.”
“It might not be entirely clear that Hillary Clinton deserves to win the presidency, but it is thunderingly clear that Donald Trump deserves to lose,” Lavin wrote.
Rep. Richard Hanna (N.Y.) became the first sitting GOP lawmaker to say he would vote for Clinton and Rep. Scott Rigell (R-Va.) has said he plans to support Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson over Trump.
