Bush Institute Founding Director: Clinton Is ‘by Far the Superior Candidate’
According to the founding director of the George W. Bush Institute, Hillary Clinton is the better candidate.
The Hill reports:
James Glassman, the undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy in George W. Bush’s administration, called the former secretary of State “by far the superior candidate” and touted her experience.
“She has the experience. She’s got the character. She has the values,” Glassman told MSNBC, according to Politico. “She is the kind of candidate I support and that, as I say, millions of Republicans are supporting.”
Glassman joins a growling list of ex-Bush officials who are bucking Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and backing Clinton, including Kori Schake, a former senior defense and National Security Council official; Rosario Marin, the former U.S. treasurer; Lezlee Westine, the former White House director of public liaison and deputy assistant to the president; and former U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez.
His endorsement comes as Clinton holds a consistent lead in the polls over Trump both nationally and in battleground states.
