“Hillary Clinton is a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future,” Trump said at a rally in Jackson, Miss.
“She’s going to do nothing for African-Americans, she’s going to do nothing for the Hispanics. She’s only going to take care of herself, her husband, her consultants, her donors,” the billionaire said. “These are the people she cares about.”
The Hill reports:
Trump has ratcheted up his rhetoric against the Democratic presidential nominee in a series of speeches aimed at Hispanic and African-American voters; polls indicate they are largely supporting Clinton.
The businessman previously said he would reject the “bigotry” of Clinton during a speech last week in West Bend, Wis., when he accused Democrats of taking the votes of black people for granted.
Trump said that it’s time Republicans gave Democrats some “competition” for minority voters’ support and pledged to rebuild inner cities and lift black and Hispanic communities up with his policies on trade and immigration.
Asked about Trump’s comments in a phone interview with CNN, Clinton offered a glimpse of the speech she will give Thursday in Reno, Nev., tying Trump to racially tinged ideas of the “alt-right” movement.
She said he has already proven himself to be a monger of prejudice and paranoia and said he has taken his “hate movement mainstream.”
