Trump Says Voters ‘Don’t Care’ If He Releases Taxes: Report
According to Donald Trump, voters don’t care if he releases his tax returns.
“I think people don’t care,” Trump said Monday afternoon in Ohio. He has refused to make the paperwork public because he is under audit by the IRS.
“I don’t think anybody cares, except some members of the press.”
The Hill reports:
Trump told ABC News he’s provided the “most extensive financial review of anybody in the history of politics.”
Both Trump and Pence said that their tax returns would be released in the past, with Pence promising on “Meet the Press” Sunday that he would make his public “in the next week.”
“When the audit is done, I’ll release them,” Trump told ABC News Monday. “I don’t know when that’s gonna be, it could be soon, it could be not.”
Democrats and many in GOP have called on him to do so, noting that every major party nominee since 1976 has done so.
