Sanders: Nobody’s Ever Asked Me Where I Was Born
On Friday, Bernie Sanders claimed Donald Trump was being racist for questioning Barack Obama’s birthplace.
The Hill reports:
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Friday weighed in on the latest outbreak of the “birther” controversy regarding President Obama, saying he was never asked about his birth certificate during the Democratic presidential primaries.
Sanders, who has Polish heritage, said he presumably never faced questions about his citizenship because he’s white.
Maybe it has something to do with the color of my skin.

Sanders often used the line during the primary campaign to slam Donald Trump for a “racist effort to try to delegitimize the president of the United States.”
“I’m running for president. Guess what? Nobody has asked for my birth certificate,” he said to a cheering South Carolina audience in February.
Trump on Thursday reversed on his long-standing view that President Obama might not have been born in the United States.
The GOP nominee said Obama was born in the United States and blamed the birther controversy on his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, saying she started it during the 2008 primaries, a claim Politifact rates at false.
Obama released his long-form birth certificate in 2011 after Trump repeatedly questioned his citizenship.
