Poll: Most Think Debate Moderators Will Help Clinton More Than Trump
A new poll by Rasmussen Reports has revealed that most Americans think the debate moderators will help Hillary Clinton more than Donald Trump.
The Hill reports:
Rasmussen Reports finds that 46 percent of likely U.S. voters think the presidential debate moderators — this year consisting of NBC’s Lester Holt, ABC’s Martha Raddatz, CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Fox News’s Chris Wallace — will try to help Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, in the upcoming debates.
Only 6 percent believe the moderators will try to help Trump, the Republican nominee, while just 32 percent say the moderators will try to be unbiased.
The Rasmussen findings largely came down along party lines: Seventy-eight percent of Trump supporters think the moderators will try to help Clinton, while 56 percent of those who support Clinton feel the moderators will attempt to be unbiased.
Only 2 percent of Trump supporters feel the moderators will try to help their candidate.Last week, Trump told Fox News that he had respect for Holt, Monday night’s moderator, but accused him of being a Democrat. A Time magazine report found Holt has been a registered Republican since 2003.
Tonight’s debate from Hofstra University promises to be the most-watched political event in history.
An expected 80 to 100 million people could be tuning in to watch, as many polls show a dead heat between the two candidates.
