Clinton Ad Shows Statements Trump ‘Never Said’
The Clinton campaign has released a new advertisement criticizing Donald Trump for statements he claims he “never said” when at the debate on Monday.
The Hill reports:
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign is slamming Donald Trump for everything the GOP presidential nominee claimed during Monday night’s presidential debate that he never said.
A new video ad released Thursday shows clips of Clinton citing specific claims made by Trump and the GOP nominee disputing that he said them.
It then skips to videos and tweets from Trump in an attempt to prove Clinton’s points.
“Donald Trump: Did he say it or not?” text says at the beginning of the nearly two-minute video, titled “Never said that.”
The video brings up Trump’s remarks about global warming, defaulting on U.S. debt, the Iraq War and nuclear war.
The beginning of the video shows Clinton during the debate saying Trump thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax. Trump is shown interrupting the Democratic nominee saying: “I did not. … I do not say that.”
It then skips to a clip of Trump saying: “All of this with the global warming, a lot of it’s a hoax.”
The video also cites Trump’s repeated claim that he was against the war in Iraq, a topic that came up during Monday night’s debate.
It then plays a clip from a 2002 interview where Trump was asked if he was for invading Iraq.
“Yeah, I guess so,” Trump says in the clip.
“Sorry, Donald, the tape doesn’t lie even if you do,” the video says in text at the end.
