Sanders’ Brother Loses British Parliamentary Election
Bernie Sander’s brother, Larry Sanders, did not win a British parliamentary election seat, even with Bernie’s support.
The Hill reports:
Larry Sanders, the brother of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), failed to win a seat in British parliamentary elections on Thursday.
Sanders came in fourth place, according to a Reuters report.
Sanders ran under the Green Party banner for the seat held by former Prime Minister David Cameron, who stepped down in July after Britain voted to leave the European Union.
Earlier this month, the Vermont senator endorsed his brother’s candidacy for a seat in the House of Commons, and posted a video message urging his election.
But it wasn’t enough to push his brother’s candidacy forward — Larry Sanders came in fourth with about 3 percent of the vote.
