Sanders: ‘Damn Right’ We Have to Stop ND Pipeline
Bernie Sanders said on Tuesday that Americans had to protest the North Dakota pipeline at all costs.
The Hill reports:
While talking about bringing people together, a member of the crowd shouted “stop the Dakota pipeline!”
“Damn right,” Sanders quickly responded. “That is one of the issues, but there are many others.”
Last week, the Vermont senator called on President Obama to stop the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, which would transport crude oil from North Dakota across four states, until federal officials can conduct a cultural and environmental review.
Clinton’s campaign released a statement on the pipeline Thursday, saying “she thinks all voices should be heard and all views should be considered in federal infrastructure projects.”
In recent days protesters blocking the pipeline’s path have clashed with police.
