The Hill reports:
According to NBC 12 News in Phoenix, the Arizona Republican told crowds he was “looking forward to victory today” in his bid for a sixth term in the Senate. “We’re confident, but you never know until they’re all counted. Obviously on the national scene, especially control of the Senate, we may be up late tonight.”
NBC 12 News reports that McCain did not answer questions about his pick for president.
McCain withdrew support of Republican nominee Donald Trump last month after a lewd exchange between Trump and Billy Bush from 2005 surfaced.
Some observers have pointed out on Twitter that McCain’s wife was wearing a white pantsuit to the polls, suggesting it may have been a statement supporting Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Clinton supporters were told to wear white pantsuits to the polls as a way of supporting Hillary and women’s suffrage.
Similar speculation has taken over Twitter regarding Ivanka and Melania Trump. Both women wore white outfits to the polls this morning, though neither wore a pantsuit.
