Video: Pro-Trump Voter Yells at Craft Store Staff, Alleges Mistreatment

A disgruntled and racist Chicago-area shopper was caught on video berating the staff at a Michael’s craft store after the staff asked her to pay $1 for a reusable bag.

The Hill reports:

The Huffington Post reported that during the interaction, which was caught on video by another shopper, the woman claims the cashiers were discriminating against her for voting for Donald Trump.

“And I voted for Trump, so there,” the woman says at the start of the video. “You want to kick me out because of that? And look who won.”

The Huffington Post reported the woman believed that a black employee had tried to “force” her to purchase a $1 reusable bag.

The woman then moved from the cashier to the woman taking the video, Jessica Grady, attacking her for filming the altercation, accusing her child of stealing, and accusing her of siding with the store employees.

“I don’t know what you think you’re videoing, lady,” the woman says. “I was just discriminated against by two black women, and you being a white woman, and you’re literally thinking that’s OK. You standing there with your baby thinking that’s OK. Why don’t you go home to your husband who’s cheating on you.”

An employee can be heard off-camera asking the woman to calm down during the interaction.

“I have been discriminated against twice by you,” she tells the employee. “This woman came around and screamed at me from across the goddamn store like an animal! An animal! Animal,” the shopper says. “You screamed at me from across the store like you were in your own living room. You’re an animal.”

Following the incident, Michaels issued a statement that read: “At Michaels, we do not tolerate discrimination or racism of any kind against our team members or customers. We regret that our customers and team members were affected by this unfortunate incident and are grateful for the leadership of our store team in working to resolve it without further escalation,” the company said in a statement to HuffPost.
