Trump Offering Access to Inauguration Donors
President-elect Donald Trump is offering direct access to any donors who send him donations of $1 million or more for his inauguration.
The Hill reports:
As first reported Tuesday by the Center for Public Integrity, donors in the “$1,000,000+” category will receive four tickets to an “intimate dinner” with Pence and his wife Karen; eight tickets to a dinner in D.C. with “special appearances” by Trump, his wife Melania and the Pences; and eight tickets to the inaugural ball with “premier access.”
Other perks for those who contribute $1 million or more include four tickets to an “exclusive” leadership luncheon with select cabinet appointees and House and Senate leadership in attendance, and eight tickets to a “ladies luncheon,” attended by the women of the first families.
Donors are also promised hospitality and transportation for Inauguration weekend.
The inaugural committee is looking to raise $65 million to $75 million to pay for inaugural celebrations, according to the Center for Public Integrity.
There are also packages available for donors who contribute $500,000, $250,000, $100,000 and $25,000.
In his 2009 inauguration, President Obama limited individual contributions to $50,000 and banned donations by corporations, PACs and lobbyists, according to the Center.
But in his second inauguration in 2013, Obama lifted the individual donation cap and the ban on corporate contributions.
