Clinton Staffers React to ‘Soul Crushing’ Report on Russian Influence

Staffers of the Clinton campaign were outraged over the CIA’s recent report that Russia aided Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign, and may have helped him win.

The Hill reports:

Former Hillary Clinton campaign staffers reacted with disgust and anger to the “soul crushing” report Friday night that the CIA had concluded Russia was trying to help Donald Trump win the election.

“Soul crushing are the only words I have,” Jennifer Palmieri, the campaign’s communications director, tweeted in response to the Washington Post report on Friday. “Can barely stand to read the story.”

Palmieri made headlines last week when she got into a shouting match with Trump aides, including former campaign manager and current transition adviser Kellyanne Conway, during a post-election forum for campaign operatives at Harvard University.

“We shouted about this as loud as we could,” added former Clinton spokesman Josh Schwerin in another tweet. “Hardly anyone listened.”

Other former staffers took aim at Trump, whose transition team blasted the CIA in a statement Friday night following the report, saying, “These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.”

Since being elected, Trump has

– insulted CIA
– refused intel briefings
– slammed our generals
– spurned State Dept
– attacked US elections

Likelihood @realDonaldTrump tweets something outrageous tonight or in the morning to change the topic? https://t.co/2Qvopxhmp2

So with stories that a foreign govt interfered with US elections, his reaction is move on? No concerns for broader implications? https://t.co/CXro1h0dqN
