Moby Hits Trump After Being Asked to DJ Inaugural Ball
Musician Moby slammed President-elect Donald Trump earlier this week after Trump asked him to be the DJ at his inauguration.
The Hill reports:
“Hahahahaha, I was just asked by a booking agent if I would consider djing at one of the inaugural balls for #trump… Hahahahaha, wait, Hahahaha, really?” Moby posted on Instagram in the caption of a photo of the Capitol.
“I guess I’d DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns. Also I would probably play public enemy and stockhausen remixes to entertain the republicans.”
Moby then posed a potential deal to the president-elect.
“I’m still laughing. Hahahaha,” he wrote.
“So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?”
Billboard asked Moby to create a hypothetical playlist if he were to play for an inauguration party. The playlist included songs like Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power,” Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War” and Pete Seeger’s “We Shall Overcome.”
Moby has criticized Trump in the past. In a piece published in Rolling Stone magazine shortly before the presidential election last year, he called Trump an “actual sociopath” and said he was “pretty close to being a psychopath.”
Several other artists and musicians have said they would not perform at the president-elect’s inauguration festivities later this month.
