The Hill reports:
Sixty-four percent of voters said Trump should delete his account in a new poll conducted by Quinnipiac University.
More younger voters than older ones said Trump should delete his account, with 71 percent saying they would be in favor of the move.
Throughout his campaign and during the transition period, Trump has used his Twitter account to announce major decisions, air his grievances and attack his enemies, often in the early hours of the morning.
On Monday, Trump used his Twitter account to call actress Meryl Streep “overrated” after she railed against him in her Golden Globes acceptance speech.
Trump transition officials have repeatedly said he will keep his account during his presidency, saying it will serve as a direct channel to speak to the American people.
Trump will also take over the @POTUS account, currently run by President Obama and his team. Trump has more than 19 million followers on his personal Twitter account.
During the campaign, Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton famously told Trump to delete his account.
